Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, educational technology, business administration, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in online program management, digital marketing, or higher education administration.
  • Strong experience in team management, market research, and strategic planning, with proven expertise in digital marketing, content management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field, with extensive experience in higher education leadership, online program development, and compliance management.
  • A record of successful digital marketing and strategic communications initiatives, particularly in promoting online education and enhancing program visibility.
  • Demonstrated experience with legal and accreditation standards related to online learning.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in educational technology, distance learning, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience in organizing events and professional development opportunities, with skills in community engagement and online networking.

Position Details  
Position Purpose
Responsible for leading the growth and enhancement of Oakland University’s online education portfolio. This role oversees the development, execution, and continuous improvement of strategic marketing and research initiatives to support online programs, while ensuring compliance with university policies and regulatory standards. The Manager manages the departmental marketing and research staff, guiding daily operations and project execution, and drives strategy through market analysis, trend forecasting, and alignment with learner needs. Additionally, the Manager collaborates with faculty and staff on best practices, quality assurance, and processes to support the expansion of online programs and spearheads the promotion of e-LIS events and online presence through websites, social media, and other channels.
